About Cassandra
Cassandra DeQuevedo is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has worked in the mental health field for the over 12 years. She draws from experience working with diverse populations of people in a variety settings including inpatient, outpatient, and college campus environments. This has served to enhance her passions in social connection, identity and healing from grief and loss. Cassandra believes that human connection is vital, and she has worked hard on strengthening her own social, romantic, and family relationships through her own work in self-discovery and learning. As woman of Mexican-American descent, Cassandra is invested in the impact of identity on connection, belonging, and healing. In her free time, you will find Cassandra lounging with her sassy chihuahua, Pinta, or outside binocular clad, birding.
Cassandra’s Therapeutic Approach
Cassandra is trained in a variety of evidence based models including, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also draws from a variety of other client-centered, Feminist, Multicultural, Humanist, and psychodynamic models. At the end of the day, what’s important to know is that all of these theories help Cassandra approach each client’s challenges with unique, personalized perspectives and strategies.
